My name is Rebecca and I am a qualified accredited hypnotherapist, Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP) practitioner & Integral Eye Movement Therapist.
I love what I do. I provide quality sessions for clients and I achieve excellent results. I have personally benefited from hypnotherapy & NLP and I believe this, along my extensive training & experience, helps me to empathise, and have a greater understanding of what is required, and works.
Hypnotherapy is known to be very successful in treating addictions but it is now commonly used to help with:
Depression low mood
Inner Child Healing
Interview Relaxation & Confidence
Illness & Health Relaxation
Letting Go of the past
What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is a safe, natural state of relaxation like our day dream state. We experience this on a daily basis in natural situations such as:
Reading a book or watching a film
Listening to music
Driving a car on automatic pilot
Misconceptions of hypnotherapy
Due to staged shows the impression has been given that we loose control in hypnosis. This couldn’t be further from the truth. In hypnotherapy you are fully in control, you are conscious, can move and talk. You can open your eyes at anytime, changes cannot be made that you do not agree with and you are always in full control. You may just find that you are so relaxed that you are happy to enjoy the peace and remain still but the choice is always yours.
What does hypnotherapy feel like?
Your mind and body is very comfortable and relaxed and yet you will be aware of sounds and movements around you. It gives you a feeling of complete security, well-being, contentment and relief from tension. Most thoroughly enjoy the feeling as you can experience a deep inner peace that your mind and body often longs for.
Afterwards the body and the mind can feel completely rejuvenated as this natural state is very healing for the mind and body.
What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis (relaxation) for therapeutic purposes. Hypnotherapy allows parts of the brain to become more active so that visualisation and memory recall becomes easier and positive changes can be made. Hypnotherapy communicates with both the conscious and subconscious and is very safe and effective.
The subconscious mind stores all our past memories, emotions, beliefs, images and thoughts. In a relaxed state (hypnosis) we can identify and access any repressed emotions or memories that are at the root of our current issues. These memories are not relived but can be healed by going through some simple processes.
Hypnotherapy also includes rehearsing positive scenes and scenarios in our minds along with bringing in the relevant positive feelings. This is a powerful process and encourages the subconscious mind to provide us with what is needed on the day, e.g. stay calm & provide positive thoughts.
How is hypnotherapy achieved?
Deep relaxation can be achieved by talking you through relaxing the body and mind completely and then talking you through a relaxing scene such as a beach, a place in nature or place special to you. If you feel that you may not be able to visualise this, that is fine as we can utilise other senses. Although if I asked you if you could picture your car or your house/garden, you would more than likely be able bring something to mind and that is what I am after. It doesn’t have to be a clear image, the sense of the scene is enough. Hypnotherapy allows parts of the brain to become more active so that visualisation and memory recall becomes easier.
In a relaxed hypnotic state, providing the subconscious with positive suggestions (seeds of positivity) is also very effective at achieving the change that you desire.
Hypnotherapy feels very similar to guided meditation and deep relaxation. Most people are happy to stay in this relaxed, calm & happy state. It is natural and deep inner peace can be achieved.
NLP Neuro Linguistic programming
I also use NLP (Neuro Linguistic programming) which is a collection of techniques, models and processes for changing unwanted behaviours, letting go of limiting behaviour & thought strategies and healing old negative emotions and more. NLP is based on the work of three renowned therapists who had achieved extraordinary results with their patients and I can see why as I am achieving fantastic results also.
There is a lot more to NLP but I take the best therapeutic practices and utilise them in my sessions.
Integrated Eye Movement Therapy IEMT
Eye Movement Therapy IEMT is another powerful tool that aims to release the emotional charge out of troubling memories. When memories have a negative emotional charge, they can stop us from achieving what we would like. When the negative emotional charge is removed, memories are filed correctly and this can continue take place several days after the session.
The best thing about IEMT is that you do not need to tell me what the memories are, you just let me know when you have one that matches the negative feeling. It's quick and I am seeing amazing results with this tool.
More information on IEMT is provided below.
My sessions incorporate all of the modalities mentioned and if there's time, I can include some energy work. All these tools ensure that I can help people in many ways and I am very pleased with the results.
I have had eye movement therapy (IEMT) in my toolkit for a year and a half now and is a great addition to my hypnotherapy and NLP sessions.
Eye Movement Therapy is a powerful tool that aims to release the emotional charge out of troublesome memories. When memories have a negative emotional charge, they can stop us from achieving what we would like. For example, if you were thinking of doing something new, but when you thought about it, it brought up an uncomfortable feeling, it is likely that an earlier memory where trying something new or a similar experience, didn’t go so well. This memory can then flash within the mind and can produce the same or a similar negative feeling. We are not always consciously aware of the memory but for some it can be vivid.
IEMT is also effective by focusing on any negative emotion that you wish to be free of such as worry, guilt, shame, frustration, anger etc. IEMT can release the negative feeling by identifying the earliest memory, you can remember, that the feeling is associated with.
The great thing is that you do not need to tell the practitioner the details or go into any lengthy psychological analysis. Disclosure is not required, and issues do not require an “archaeological" dig into the past.
Once the emotion and the earliest memory has been identified, eye movement techniques are carried out. They are very simple and quite quick in duration and in many cases, produce quick relief from the negative feelings.
This is said to act as a natural mental pattern disrupt between the memory and the emotion, releasing them from each other. The memory then files correctly without the negative emotional charge, providing you with emotional freedom.
I can do stand alone IEMT sessions and I find it a useful addition within the following sessions:
Anxious Thoughts & Feelings
Confidence & Self Esteem
Weight Loss Inner Child Healing
Confidence for children
